What goes into expert camera and lens repair?

As with many cameras I see from this era this is quite typical of the condition cameras come into the shop. The slow sluggish operation is from old lubricants that have lost the ability to function as designed.

At ICT we do not just go in and oil a few points with oil, instead we remove the parts, clean off the old grease and oil and install fresh lubricants that will keep these wonderful pieces of machinery working for many years to come.
